Bermuda: The Final Chapter

On Thursday, we played one of the prettiest golf courses I have ever played in my life, Riddles Bay. This is the first and oldest golf course in Bermuda. On this course you can see the entire island, the harbor, and beautiful ocean views. I must say,  I did lose a few golf balls but the beauty made up for it.

While we played golf, Aunt Anne was nice enough to watch Harper. As you can see, I think they had a great time.

That evening we enjoyed dinner at the resort Will and I stayed at last summer, Pompano Beach Club. It was so nice to go back and see all the friends we had made on that trip. The hotel staff were so excited to meet Harper and show us how much their own children had grown over the year. I would highly recommend both Pampano and The Reefs when travelling to Bermuda. Both  are excellent resorts but offer different things for families and couples.

Harper's dress that night was very special to us, since it was given by Brandon and Anne. They had her initials embroidered on the dress and had even bought matching shoes from etsy.com to match. It is one of my favorite outfits Harper has ever worn.

On Friday, we decided to take in as much sun as we could, since it was our last day. So, we spent the majority of the day at the beautiful Reefs pool.

For our final dinner, we went to our favorite restaurant at The Reefs called Ocean Echo. The views from this restaurant are breathtaking.  It was a bitter sweet dinner, since it was going to be the last dinner of our vacation and the last time we all would be together for awhile. However, it was wonderful to be with everyone.

After dinner, we all went to the hotel bar and listened to a band playing island music. It was a great way to end our trip.

On Saturday morning, I had a very hard time saying goodbye to Bermuda (like I do every time we visit). It is my favorite vacation spot due to the beauty, wonderful resorts, outstanding food, and of course the people of Bermuda.

Needless to say, this was a wonderful trip with my family. There were so many memories made that I will never forget and will be sure to tell Harper about one day.

Until we meet again Bermuda...

Bermuda Vacation : Part III

On Wednesday, my entire family ventured to the Historic Navy Dockyard to swim with the dolphins at Dolphin Quest. This is something that I had done when I was younger and we decided to do it again ,since it was so much fun. This time did not disappoint. We had a blast and the Dolphins were so amazing to swim with ( as you can see).

After our swim, we headed back to our resort, The Reefs and enjoyed the rest of the day by the beach.

Bermuda Vacation: Part 2

On Tuesday , we decided it was a great day for golf . So, Bryan , Will and I decided to play a round at Belmont Hills Golf Course. This was a golf course that Will and I played on our honeymoon. We actually loved it so much that we decided to play it again and it did not disappoint. We love it just as much!
Beautiful Belmont Hills Golf Club
The only thing that was not nice was the weather. After 9 holes of golf, we had to stop our round due to rain, but we still had a lot of fun.

Once we realized the rain was not going to stop, all the girls ( and my dad) decided to go shopping downtown  Hamilton , which is the center of all business and government for Bermuda. To start our shopping we decided to have a cocktail at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess, which is a historic Bermuda hotel. It was a good way to spend a rainy day.
Drinks before shopping was not a good idea. I spent way too much!

We finished the evening with a wonderful dinner at Ocean Echo that overlooked the ocean and sunset.

Bermuda Vacation: Part 1

Well, we have officially made it back from Bermuda. It was one of the best trips yet. One thing that made this trip so special was being able to spend a whole week with my entire family and Harper . Harper did so well that we now joke how we ever got so lucky to have such a great baby. Here's a short overview of our trip.( Warning Photo Overload!!)

On Saturday, we headed to Baltimore to prepare for our morning flight to Bermuda. We had dinner with my brother Bryan and my parents at a restaurant called Bo Brooks.
Bo Brooks Crab-house
This restaurant is the #1 crab restaurant in the Inner Harbour area. I had their famous crab-cakes and they did not disappoint. Gordon Ramsey would approve.

On Sunday morning, we prepared to get ready for our flight to Bermuda. The flight is only 2 hours long but I had been stressing over how Harper was going to act for months. I was also very stressed out over what we were bringing for her entertainment for the week. So, we ended up bring her swing, boppy and Bright Stars play mat. Since, Harper had her own plane ticket we were to bring  2 suitcases and three golf bags ( we put the swing, etc in the golf bag since you allowed 65lbs for that type of bag).

Harper did so well for her first airport experience. I say airport experience because on this day our plane did not take off , so she was unable to experience her first flight. When we got to our terminal on Sunday morning  we noticed the plane was delayed until 1:00 pm. We quickly found out that the plane was in Tampa having engine issues. As they kept delaying the flight we realized that we may not make it to Bermuda on Sunday.
Being cancelled is no fun.
Around 1:00 pm they made an announcement that the flight had been canceled. The sad part was that there were no other flights going to Bermuda on this day. However, all of us got a free round flight. So , we had to spend the rest of the day at the Embassy Suites in Baltimore, Md.

To make the best of the day we decided to take our iPod to the pool  and play beach music while enjoying some drinks. Needless to say, we were disappointed but we still ended up having fun.

On Monday morning I felt like I was on that movie "Ground Hog Day." We literally did the same thing as the day before except this time when we got to the terminal the plane was there and on time. The whole flight Harper slept and she did not wake until we got to airport in Bermuda. We were so relieved!

We did make it to The Reefs around 3:00 and were able to go to the pool right away. My brother Brandon and Anne were already in Bermuda since their flight had made it on Sunday from Atlanta. So, they were able to show us around the hotel. Will and I shared a two bedroom condo with my parents while everyone else had their own hotel rooms. It was a beautiful resort and one of the best we have ever stayed in.

That evening we were able to have a very relaxing dinner on the Travel and Leisure Terrace. It was a beautiful view of the sun setting along the beach. Needless to say, this made us completely forget that we had lost a day in Bermuda
