Bermuda Vacation: Part 1

Well, we have officially made it back from Bermuda. It was one of the best trips yet. One thing that made this trip so special was being able to spend a whole week with my entire family and Harper . Harper did so well that we now joke how we ever got so lucky to have such a great baby. Here's a short overview of our trip.( Warning Photo Overload!!)

On Saturday, we headed to Baltimore to prepare for our morning flight to Bermuda. We had dinner with my brother Bryan and my parents at a restaurant called Bo Brooks.
Bo Brooks Crab-house
This restaurant is the #1 crab restaurant in the Inner Harbour area. I had their famous crab-cakes and they did not disappoint. Gordon Ramsey would approve.

On Sunday morning, we prepared to get ready for our flight to Bermuda. The flight is only 2 hours long but I had been stressing over how Harper was going to act for months. I was also very stressed out over what we were bringing for her entertainment for the week. So, we ended up bring her swing, boppy and Bright Stars play mat. Since, Harper had her own plane ticket we were to bring  2 suitcases and three golf bags ( we put the swing, etc in the golf bag since you allowed 65lbs for that type of bag).

Harper did so well for her first airport experience. I say airport experience because on this day our plane did not take off , so she was unable to experience her first flight. When we got to our terminal on Sunday morning  we noticed the plane was delayed until 1:00 pm. We quickly found out that the plane was in Tampa having engine issues. As they kept delaying the flight we realized that we may not make it to Bermuda on Sunday.
Being cancelled is no fun.
Around 1:00 pm they made an announcement that the flight had been canceled. The sad part was that there were no other flights going to Bermuda on this day. However, all of us got a free round flight. So , we had to spend the rest of the day at the Embassy Suites in Baltimore, Md.

To make the best of the day we decided to take our iPod to the pool  and play beach music while enjoying some drinks. Needless to say, we were disappointed but we still ended up having fun.

On Monday morning I felt like I was on that movie "Ground Hog Day." We literally did the same thing as the day before except this time when we got to the terminal the plane was there and on time. The whole flight Harper slept and she did not wake until we got to airport in Bermuda. We were so relieved!

We did make it to The Reefs around 3:00 and were able to go to the pool right away. My brother Brandon and Anne were already in Bermuda since their flight had made it on Sunday from Atlanta. So, they were able to show us around the hotel. Will and I shared a two bedroom condo with my parents while everyone else had their own hotel rooms. It was a beautiful resort and one of the best we have ever stayed in.

That evening we were able to have a very relaxing dinner on the Travel and Leisure Terrace. It was a beautiful view of the sun setting along the beach. Needless to say, this made us completely forget that we had lost a day in Bermuda
